but reading books should be fun though! Unless they're for school then not so much.

I'm done for christmas! I've become addicted to those Hallmark and Lifetime Christmas movies, they're so sappy and full of unrealistic happiness. It makes me feel nice.  Cheesy

Btw, it is soooo not christmas around here. The high's have been in the upper 70's this week. Yesterday it reached 81F. That is not cool. How can you get into the christmas spirit when you are wearing short sleeve shirts and shorts? And what are you suppose to wear to christmas parties? There are seriously no Christmas tee shirts around.  Roll Eyes ugh. Its suppose to be 68F on Christmas. Still not cool enough.

Jess I am going to slap you.  It is colder here than it has been since the '50s, so DO NOT complain about being warm!  I haven't been warm in two weeks.  Angry

I've been watching True Blood and I likes it.  I still miss Moonlight, though.  Oh, Mickey, you're so fine.  Kiss

Jess, It's always pretty warm at Christmas my end of the world. Lots of people will have a barbeque then go down to the beach, it's a very different christmas vibe, but THIS yr everyone has a cold and it has been raining almost every day the past 2 weeks... so it seems you have gotten our weather and we have yours? lol.

Wish it was warm over here...

Jess, the books are of course for my studies...otherwise I`d be pleased to read them  Smiley

Oooops, seems I`ve disgruntled an Italian casanova. He wanted to date me though he has a girlfriend. I said no and he - who seemed actually very friendly & charming - no longer writes or talks to me. So what. I`m just pleased that I did not get involved in cheating other people ("Do unto others as you would have otehrse do unto you."). I also feel that he should not see women as objects...Guess that`s not the first time he tried to cheat his pretty gf. I actually feel sorry for her and wonder if she knows that he flirts with other women... I dislike such men. Wish such men had girlfreinds like Angelina Jolie...she would beat him up with a frying pan if he`d only try to cheat her  Wink

According to the media, Angelina is usually the woman that men are cheating with, not on.

Ugh that guy sounds like a jerk Ande, it's a good thing he's no longer talking to you, you don't need people like that in your life.

Okay it seems i spoke too soon about the weather... today was 30 degrees and tomorrow is going to be 34... it's time for shorts and singlets and barbeques.

Ande - I agree that the guy sounds like a loser.  Better off without him!

Ang - How do you like True Blood?  I watched the entire season and just felt so so about it.  Sookie is annoying.  The supporting cast is what kept me watching.

It is seriously windy and scary outside.  Snow blowing everywhere. I am glad I didn't have to leave the house today.  Last night I had to drive in it and I was really scared.  I drive about 25,000 miles each year...so it takes a lot to get me nervous while driving.  There were times that the wind was blowing so much snow that I couldn't see the road.  I think I was going about 20-30 mph for 10 miles.

I have wrapped one gift.  Now many more to go!!!!

I actually had a really fun weekend in my fair nation's capital city.  Rhett Miller played the Black Cat last night, which is where all the hipster douchebags congregate in D.C.  Normally they show up to shows in droves when they've heard one song on some indie radio station, and ruin the night for me with their lack of audience participation.  I think because the Old 97's have been around for eons, a lot of older folks came out, and I'm pleased to say they're not too cool to get excited about music--to remember what it's about and what it makes you feel.  I like to sing, I like to dance, and by God, I'll do it and enjoy myself without a shred of self-consciousness.

Afterwards, I ended the night at a bar as Rhett Miller.  Again, aluding to the fact that I'm not too cool to be coy, we hung out and talked about snow, keffiyeh scarves (and the offensive manner in which they're worn), and other stuff which my sober mind can't decipher from drunk memories.  Smiley

Today, I met up with my friend Jared and baked Christmas cookies.

I cannot help remembering a remark of De Casseres. It was over the wine in Mouquin's. Said he: "The profoundest instinct in man is to war against the truth; that is, against the Real. He shuns facts from his infancy. His life is a perpetual evasion. Miracle, chimera and to-morrow keep him alive. He lives on fiction and myth. It is the Lie that makes him free. Animals alone are given the privilege of lifting the veil of Isis; men dare not. The animal, awake, has no fictional escape from the Real because he has no imagination. Man, awake, is compelled to seek a perpetual escape into Hope, Belief, Fable, Art, God, Socialism, Immortality, Alcohol, Love. From Medusa-Truth he makes an appeal to Maya-Lie."

I quite like it.  The supporting cast is definitely really good, but I like Sookie and Bill, too.  Anything with a love story gets me.  Smiley  I think Lafayette is awesome and I have thought Ryan Kwanten (Jason) was cute since Summerland.  It's just too bad that he can't use his Australian accent.  I'm halfway through episode 8 so I have a few more to go, but I'm definitely enjoying it so far.

Sounds like you've got a bit of our weather!  I am sick of the cold and snow.  The snow is pretty but it's a pain in the ass if you're trying to go somewhere.

Personally, I thought True Blood would be much better.

Blarg, I've got insomnia like a mofo without a Klonopin in sight (not that Klonopin is used for insomnia persay, or should be used without a prescription from your medical provider).

Merry Christmas!

Could've been worse...could've been a moose.  I've heard horror stories of cars being totalled by moose.  Hope you're alright.  Don't let it ruin your holiday.

No blue boxes this morning...but better...an espresso/capuccino maker!!

Good husband!

It could be easily worse:

Everyone is the car was fine, I have insurance that will cover the repairs, so it really isn't a big deal.  My dad woke me up at first light to make sure if the deer was hurt, she was out of pain.  Never found a body, and he said that if they go beyond 60 yards, they tend to live, plus she cleared a ten foot fence.  Here's hopping she'll live to cross another road.

I'm glad you're alright, Helen.  You reminded me of a Gilmore Girls episode with your deer story.  A deer rams into Rory's Jeep and hilarity ensues.

Abby, I love the new IV picture!  It's gorgeous.  Did you take it yourself?  Cheesy

I do not have a single picture from yesterday that can be seen by anyone besides myself.  Humbug.  I need to be more photogenic.  My cousin gave me a condom haha.  I opened it and it was lubricated so I was like "Shocked OMG it's got stuff on it!"  I am so innocent hahaha.  There's a funny picture of me holding it with a disgusted look on my face and several of it on a wine bottle, as my cousin is a nurse (or at least over a year into school to become one) and thought she would show us how one is correctly used.  That's my Christmas story.   Tongue

Cannot claim the new picture as my own... stock photography came to the rescue for this one.

Today started out so perfectly productive, but quickly became lazy. How did that happen? Hmph.
